Kharlovka report, week 30 (19-26 July 2025)

On Saturday we welcomed a new group of 8 guests on Kharlovka. Most of the guests are well known to us and one of the fishermen came to us for the first time - and will now surely become a regular guest.

The weather remained cool over the weekend with the sun coming out in the afternoon and warming the air up to 20C but by evening the temperature was dropping again. Warm conditions stabilized by the beginning of the week, the water warmed up to 16C and at the same time heavy rains and thunderstorms arrived which allowed the water level to remain around 14-16 cm for several days – ideal conditions for the salmon to jump through the waterfalls. During the week the water level dropped from 21 to 12 cm on the Home pool scale.

Despite most of the group consisting of experienced anglers, this week some of them managed to improve their personal bests.

On Monday Alexey was fishing on Eastern Litza and landed a 12 kg (26.4 lb) male on the Ledge pool. We recognized this salmon from the photo - the same fish that Maxim caught here on July 7 and for Alexey it became a new personal best. Such cases are the best proof that the "catch-and-release" method works well.

Dmitry also updated his personal best on the Eastern Litza – a female salmon of 12 kg (26.4 lb, 104 cm) caught on the Lower Tent.

In total the team of 8 rods landed about 150 salmon for the week. The largest fish was caught by Arkady on the legendary Flat Stone – a male weighing 14.3 kg (31.5 lb), 107 cm in length and 55 cm in girth.

Another great week on the Kharlovka with warm company and amazing fishing.
