Kharlovka Report Week 33 (8-14 August 2026)
The week was lively and truly northern, with changing weather, fluctuating water levels, and the river showing a completely different character from day to day. Air temperatures ranged from +9 to +15°C, water temperatures from +10.9 to +14.4°C, while the river level varied between −20 and −9 cm. On one of the days, the river rose by as much as 10 cm, noticeably changing the fishing conditions. Despite all these fluctuations, the fish kept us happy for almost the entire week.
More than 45 fish were landed over the seven days, with Maxim being the most successful angler of the week, accounting for more than 23 fish — more than anyone else.
The real highlight of the week was the sea trout. Rodion and Katya landed 45 sea trout between them, and for both of them it was a record-breaking week. Rodion set a new personal best at 4.7 kg,
while Katya’s new personal best was 4 kg. Rodion’s day with ten sea trout was particularly memorable — not only did he have an exceptional day on the river, but he also improved his personal best.
Maxim fished with great consistency throughout the week. Among his standout catches were an 11 kg salmon from Litza.
There were fish of 7.5 and 6.5 kg from the Home Pool, and a 6 kg salmon from Kuvshin. Even while not feeling at his best, he continued to produce excellent results.
Rezo also gave us plenty to smile about, especially with his 7.5 kg salmon from Kharlovka.
He added several other good fish to his week, along with grilse from Litsa.
Alexander finished the week in style. After several good days with grilse and a 4.5 kg salmon, he set a new personal best of 5.3 kg.
A perfect way to round off the week!
All in all, it was exactly the kind of fishing week that makes you want to return to the river again and again: changing weather, rising and falling water, good salmon, active sea trout, plenty of grilse, new personal bests, and, of course, plenty of stories that will be remembered around camp for a long time to come.
More than 45 fish in a week is a fantastic result. And most importantly, the river continues to surprise us — with plenty more fishing days still ahead. 🎣
