Strelna River

The ASR is excited to announce that we will be extending our conservation and fishing program to include the distant Strelna river on the south coast of the Kola. The main goal will be to maintain and develop the fantastic salmon and trout fishing in this area, while preserving and protecting the unspoiled nature for the benefit of future generations.

Strelna is one of the largest rivers of the Kola Peninsula, the spillway is similar to Kharlovka, or approximately half of the drainage of the Spey River. The Strelna meanders for about 213 kilometers passing through the forest-tundra, winding among peat bogs, birch and coniferous massifs before flowing into the White Sea.

The mouth of the river is wide and spacious, and the banks are easily accessible. The lower pools of the river benefit from a series of waterfalls located about a kilometer from the mouth.  Strelna is one of the best rivers on the White Sea for prolific salmon fishing where 5 - 10 or more fish per days are not uncommon.
