Kharlovka report, week 26 (20-26 June 2026)
Final Report for Fishing Week 26
The 26th fishing week on the Kharlovka and Eastern Litza rivers has come to an end, leaving behind countless unforgettable memories, strong emotions, and remarkable stories. Despite the changeable northern weather and steadily dropping water levels, the rivers continued to reward persistent anglers with excellent Atlantic salmon fishing.
Weather conditions remained relatively stable throughout the week. Air temperatures ranged from +6°C to +13°C, while water temperatures varied between +10.2°C and +13.3°C. Water levels gradually dropped from +20 cm to +12 cm. These conditions required anglers to constantly search for active fish, experiment with presentations, and carefully select the right flies.
Over the course of the week, guests landed more than 110 Atlantic salmon, confirming once again the exceptional potential of both the Kharlovka and Eastern Litza river systems.
Fish were spread throughout the entire system, with successful catches recorded on a wide variety of beats. Particularly productive areas included Julian's, Island, Barrel, Lower Canyon, Kharlovka Falls, Geese, Ledge, Dream, Classic, Domashka, Flat Stone, Rock, and Beryozka.
Among the flies, the clear favorites of the week were Sunray, Persik, Golden Killer, WG, Aliceshrim, Cascad, GT, Shrimp, Snelda, and various Ph patterns. These flies accounted for the majority of takes and helped anglers achieve outstanding results.
The week produced several impressive trophies. On the very first day, Irakli successfully landed and safely released a beautiful 5 kg salmon on a Golden Killer fly, while another angler landed a 5.5 kg fish on the Geese beat. Other standout catches included Maxim's magnificent 11.9 kg salmon, Alexander's 10 kg fish landed at Flat Stone, and a memorable achievement by Vladimir, who improved his personal best by landing a superb 10 kg salmon.
A highlight of the week was, of course, Big Fish Friday. The well-deserved winner was Svetlana, who landed the largest fish of the week — an outstanding 13 kg Atlantic salmon. This magnificent fish not only became the biggest salmon of the week but also symbolized perseverance, skill, and a touch of angling luck.
Personal achievements were equally important. One of the most memorable moments of the week belonged to Arslan, who landed his very first salmon on a fly rod. Moments like these remind us that the true value of fishing lies not only in the size of the catch, but also in the emotions and memories that stay with us for years to come.
Ultimately, the greatest achievement of the week was not measured only in trophies. It was a week filled with friendship, breathtaking northern scenery, thrilling battles with salmon, and unforgettable moments by the water. Every evening in the lodge, guests shared stories, relived the day's highlights, and began planning their next fishing adventure.
The camp team would like to thank all our guests for the wonderful atmosphere, trust, and passion for northern salmon fishing. It was a pleasure to share this remarkable week with you.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the river soon! 🎣
